Staff Product Manager - Billing (VAT)

The role

• You own the end-to-end VAT billing product area, defining strategy and roadmap for tax compliance infrastructure across multiple markets.
• You work cross-functionally with engineering, finance, legal, and operations to ensure billing systems handle VAT correctly at scale.
• You translate complex tax and regulatory requirements into clear product requirements and shipping plans.
• You drive alignment across senior stakeholders on billing architecture decisions with long-term compliance implications.

• Demonstrated experience building or owning billing, tax, or financial compliance products at a Staff level.
• Deep understanding of VAT, GST, or indirect tax concepts and how they apply to SaaS or marketplace billing systems.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in regulatory environments and turn complex requirements into actionable product decisions.
• Strong technical fluency — you can work directly with engineers on billing system architecture and data models.
• Track record of influencing without authority across engineering, finance, and legal teams.
