WHAT MAKES US, US

Join some of the most innovative thinkers in FinTech as we lead the evolution of financial technology. If you are curious, collaborative, customer-minded, and motivated by solving real problems for financial professionals, say hello to SimCorp.

At SimCorp, we are guided by our values: caring, customer success-driven, collaborative, curious, and courageous. We are a people-centered organization that invests in skills development, relationship building, and client success. We take pride in creating an environment where people can grow, feel heard, and be empowered to make an impact.

If this sounds like you, keep reading.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

You will join SimCorp’s Product Division and work on one of our most critical front-office capabilities: Portfolio Management.

Portfolio managers at asset management firms operate under increasing pressure: volatile markets, complex portfolios, tighter risk constraints, and the need to make better investment decisions faster. Static reports and disconnected tools are no longer enough. Portfolio managers need software that helps them understand portfolio positioning, risk usage, exposures, scenarios, and investment intent — and then translate that insight into action.

That is what we are building.

Built on the SimCorp One platform, our modern Portfolio Management solution helps portfolio managers monitor portfolios, analyze exposures and risk, evaluate alternatives, rebalance, and act within coherent, workflow-driven software designed for true front-office use.

This role exists because Portfolio Management is a strategic growth area for SimCorp and our clients. As Product Manager / Product Owner, you will help turn real portfolio manager workflows into intuitive, scalable software. You do not need to come from a traditional product-management background to succeed. You may have gained relevant experience through value advisory, pre-sales, consulting, implementation, client advisory, or another role where you worked closely with investment-management clients and translated their needs into practical solutions.

The common thread is this: you understand client problems, can structure them clearly, and are motivated to shape software that helps portfolio managers work better every day.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

As Product Manager, you will be accountable for execution, learning, and impact — not just producing backlog items.

You will:

  • Own the product direction and backlog for one or more Portfolio Management capabilities.
  • Translate portfolio manager needs, client feedback, and market insight into clear, actionable product increments.
  • Lead and continuously prioritize the backlog for one or more full-stack scrum teams, balancing client value, product quality, platform direction, and technical health.
  • Work closely with engineers, designers, architects, product peers, and client-facing colleagues to shape workflows, interactions, and data models that make sense in real front-office contexts.
  • Build a strong understanding of portfolio manager workflows, including:
    • Portfolio monitoring and decision preparation
    • Exposure and risk analysis
    • Scenario evaluation and rebalancing
    • Order generation and execution workflows
    • Write clear product briefs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and decision material focused on user intent and business outcomes.
  • Use client feedback, internal expertise, usage insight, and delivery learning to validate priorities and iterate quickly.
  • Collaborate with other Product Owners and Product Managers to ensure coherent front-office workflows across Portfolio Management and adjacent product areas.
  • Support demos, discovery conversations, and client discussions by grounding the conversation in real portfolio manager use cases.
  • Act as a consistent voice of the portfolio manager in product, design, and delivery decisions.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with strong ownership, visibility, and direct impact.

WHAT WE VALUE

Most importantly, you can see yourself thriving in the role described above. How you acquired the skills matters less than how you apply them.

You may be a strong fit if you have several of the following:

  • Experience working with asset managers, investment teams, front-office users, or investment-management technology.
  • A background in one or more of the following areas:
  • Product management or product ownership
  • Value advisory or solution advisory
  • Pre-sales or solution consulting
  • Business consulting or implementation consulting
  • Client advisory, customer success, or professional services in financial technology
  • Ability to understand complex client workflows and translate them into clear product needs, priorities, and delivery outcomes.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management, portfolio construction, rebalancing, exposure/risk analysis, or order-generation workflows.
  • Comfort working with analytics, data, and financial concepts.
  • Some knowledge of SimCorp Dimension is clearly a plus, especially if you have worked with front-office, portfolio management, or investment workflows.

Ways of working

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and turn them into practical next steps.
  • Curiosity about users, workflows, and the “why” behind product decisions.
  • Pragmatic, outcome-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to zoom out to understand portfolio manager goals — and zoom in to refine workflows, interactions, and details.
  • Confidence working with engineers, designers, product peers, and client-facing colleagues.
  • Willingness to learn product-management practices if your background is advisory, consulting, or pre-sales.

As a person, you:

  • Collaborate naturally with colleagues across disciplines.
  • Are comfortable questioning assumptions and navigating complexity.
  • Communicate clearly and speak up when needed.
  • Balance structure with creativity.
  • Care deeply about usability — not just functional completeness.
  • Are motivated by creating software that solves real client problems.
