As posted by Lunar

Lunar is the biggest challenger bank in the Nordics, and we're building something that actually works for people. We're looking for a designer who starts with the customer, not the canvas. Someone who'd rather sit in on five user conversations than guess, and who turns what they hear into decisions the whole team can get behind.

You'll own design end-to-end on real product work, from messy problem spaces to shipped screens, and help raise the bar for everyone around you. We want designers in the room early, shaping what we build before it's a roadmap item, not just polishing it after the fact.

A day at Lunar

Some days you're deep in Figma, sweating interaction details on a flow that affects hundreds of thousands of users. Other days you're running a usability session, synthesizing research with a squad, or in a workshop pinning down what we're actually trying to solve before anyone writes code or moves pixels.

Nothing here comes pre-packaged. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and data & analytics, but you're expected to dig into the data yourself, chase down the “why,” and make sense of ambiguity rather than wait for a clean brief or a tidy dataset to land on your desk. That takes creativity and persistence as much as craft.

You'll run your own user research, pull your own data, and bring customers into the room rather than waiting for someone else to do it. Championing the user's voice in a roadmap discussion is as much the job as championing it in a design review.

Where you’ll work

Aarhus or Copenhagen. Most of the design team sits in Aarhus, and that's the base for this role. We're also just starting to build out Copenhagen, growing that team by two more designers, so you'd be joining a design org that's active in both cities from the start. The two sites work as one team, with some travel between them to collaborate and run sessions. Like the rest of Lunar, we work to a 4-days-in-office policy. We believe the best outcomes happen when we come together.

About you

For this role, UX thinking is the superpower we're hiring for. You reframe the problem before the team runs off in the wrong direction. Strong visual and interaction craft matters, and we'd love it if you have it, but it's the complement here, not the headline.

Who you are:

  • 6+ years in product design, with real ownership of workstreams: defining the problem and bringing people with you, not waiting for a brief to land on your desk

  • Depth in UX and research: you've led your own user testing, not just briefed it out

  • A habit of starting at insight: digging into data and the “why” before reaching for a solution, even when the data isn't handed to you cleanly

  • Mobile-first by default: fluent in the platform conventions that make apps feel right

  • Comfortable moving between ambiguity and execution without everything figured out first

  • AI already part of how you work, not something you've dabbled in

  • The communication skills to bring non-designers with you: product, engineering, leadership

One last thing on applying

  • Feel free to use AI for the cover letter, just make sure we're able to get to know the real you.

  • A portfolio link/PDF is required. Applications without one won't be considered. Pick two recent projects and curate them tightly: the challenge, your approach, the solution, and the impact. We want the case made for us, not a full archive we have to dig through to find it. Figma, website, prototype: whatever makes the point.

  • The application round closes on October 31, and the interview process will begin thereafter.

Benefits & Perks

  • 4 days in the office. We're a team that builds together, thinks together, and moves together. Showing up is part of how we work.

  • State of the art equipment. The newest computer, monitor, mouse, and keyboard. We want you to do your best work without anything slowing you down.

  • Pension, health insurance, and enhanced parental leave. From your financial future to your family moments. We've got you covered.
