The Mission 

As a Customer Journey Expert (CJE), you will be part of WB DM Operations, responsible for delivering data products and analytical capabilities that enable Wholesale Banking Regulatory Reporting. 

You will act as the bridge between regulatory stakeholders and engineering teams, ensuring that regulatory requirements are translated into trusted, governed, and consumable data products. Working in a cross-border and cross-functional environment, you will help ensure data availability, quality, lineage, and compliance with local and global regulations. 

 

Your day to day 

 

The Customer Journey Expert (CJE) will have Product Owner responsibilities, working together with other CJEs, engineers, architects, Data Information Analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data products and analytical capabilities supporting ING's Regulatory Reporting landscape.

The CJE will apply and align with Global Data Management principles, standards, and best practices. Within the WB Data Lake platform, the CJE is responsible for ensuring that regulatory data is sourced, governed, transformed, and made available to support internal and external reporting obligations. This includes enabling Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Lineage, and analytical capabilities required by data consumers and reporting stakeholders.

  

 

Your day to day

You will work closely with engineers, architects, Data Information Analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver and continuously improve Regulatory Reporting data products. 

Your responsibilities include: 

• Owning and prioritizing the product backlog based on business value and regulatory priorities;
• Defining and evolving the vision and roadmap of your product area;
• Translating business and regulatory requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria;
• Identifying, sourcing, and governing regulatory data within the Wholesale Banking Data Platform;
• Ensuring data quality, lineage, privacy, and security requirements are incorporated into delivered solutions;
• Facilitating backlog refinement, sprint planning, and stakeholder alignment;
• Managing stakeholders proactively by providing transparency on priorities, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress;
• Driving continuous improvements in ways of working, collaboration, and product outcomes.  

What you’ll bring to the team

 

Experience:

Tech stack/ knowledge:

• Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Customer Journey Expert in a data-driven environment;
• Experience working with data products, data management, analytics platforms, or regulatory reporting solutions;
• Practical SQL skills and the ability to analyze and validate data;
• Experience working closely with engineering teams and understanding the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, from requirements through development, testing, deployment, and production support;
• Experience working in Agile environments and multidisciplinary teams;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to translate complex topics into clear structures and actionable plans;
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills;
• Ownership mindset with a focus on delivery and outcomes;
• Resilience and ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments;
• Collaborative team player with experience working across countries and functions. 

• Nice to have: Banking and Financial Services experience is a strong advantage.

  Foreign languages: Fluent in English.
