We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Technical Product Manager.
Join HSBC’s Developer Platforms team (CTO) to help transform our Developer Platform estate and improve the day-to-day experience of engineers across the bank. This role provides strategic direction and drives product strategy, while also owning delivery in specific areas as needed—identifying improvement opportunities, reducing tech debt, supporting DevOps ways of working, and helping teams ship safely to Production.
You’ll support the transformation of the Developer Platform estate, which will result in an optimised technology operating model. You’ll provide strategic support and direction, as well as driving product strategy. It will be varied and will require the ability to own product delivery in specific areas as the need requires

In this role you’ll:
• Proactive identification of improvement opportunities in the technology landscape and delivering provable results compared to baseline
• Delivery of transformation, working in an agile environment, utilising industry standard approaches where applicable
• Ownership of product strategy, providing support in specific areas, and working with other product owners to develop the product culture in the organisation
• Provision of subject matter expertise and facilitation to stakeholders and the wider engineering community that will consume these services
• Management of stakeholder expectations and accountability
• Provision of clear communication on schedules, delivery dates, scope changes, etc to stakeholders
• Oversight of adoption and rollout of agreed operating models to the engineering teams
• Development of ways of working and delivery approach that recognises incumbent risks of the directive and ensures that continuous feedback maximises delivery success.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Experience of driving transformation in technology, operating in a DevOps / Agile environment and partnering closely with technologists and technical delivery teams
• Strong technical background (able to engage credibly on architecture, delivery and tooling)
of implementing Product Management strategies
• AI capability as a key advantage, including integrating AI solutions into projects/products, and familiarity with AI developer tools (e.g., Copilot) and modern coding practices (including open-source/open code)
• Experience of working on global initiatives, engaging with team members and stakeholders in multiple locations
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage global, distributed teams, leading ~10 direct reports plus wider global/virtual reports
• Experience operating in large, enterprise-scale organisations in measuring outcomes of change initiatives
• Strong analytical skills: building datasets, matrices and analysis, and translating insights into clear business meaning and actions
• Hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach to delivery and problem-solving
