Are you passionate about shaping product strategy and driving innovation within the balance field? Do you thrive in a role where you combine market insight, technical understanding and cross-functional collaboration to deliver strong global product performance? Then you might be our new Category Manager for balance with the Global Product Management team.

 

Your impact as our new category manager

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the strategic direction of our balance portfolio across brands and markets. You will own the category roadmap, ensuring strong differentiation, competitive positioning, and alignment with customer needs.

You will work closely with stakeholders across R&D, Clinical, Commercial Excellence, and our global brands to translate insights into impactful product decisions. Your work will directly support growth, profitability, and innovation across the Diagnostics business.


The position can be held at any Demant Diagnostics’ site or fully remote within Europe, and you will report to Senior Director of Product Management, Scott Haag, based in the US. You will be part of a global leadership context where alignment, insight, and structured decision-making are key to success.

Get to know your new team and manager

You will join the Global Product Management team with Diagnostics alongside 3 other and collaborate with colleagues across regions, brands, and functions. The team is characterised by a high level of professionalism, collaboration, and a shared ambition to create strong, differentiated products that deliver real value.

 

 

Drive product strategy and category performance across markets

 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Define, maintain and adjust the global category strategy and 5-year product roadmap for balance
  • Translate customer and market insights into clear product priorities and innovation opportunities
  • Drive product and platform positioning, ensuring differentiation across brands and segments
  • Lead business case development and prioritisation of product and platform investments
  • Collaborate with R&D and Clinical teams to influence early-stage product development and validation
  • Ensure strong lifecycle management, including phase-in/phase-out decisions and design prioritisation
  • Monitor category performance and continuously refine strategy based on data and feedback loops
  • Align stakeholders across brands and functions to ensure effective execution and market impact

You are a strategic product leader with strong domain expertise

To succeed in this role, you bring a strong combination of strategic thinking, commercial understanding, and technical insight. You are comfortable working in a global, matrix organisation and know how to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes to create alignment and results.


We imagine that you have:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering, healthcare, or a related field
  • Solid experience within the balance field
  • Several years of experience in product management, preferably within medical devices or diagnostics
  • Experience working in a global, matrix organisation would pave the way to succeed in the position, but it is not a requirement
  • A proven ability to translate customer and market insights into product strategies and decisions
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and cultures

 

The ideal candidate possesses experience with balance solutions will enable you to act as a trusted expert, while your structured and collaborative approach ensures progress across initiatives. You have a strategic and collaborative mindset and ensure strong category leadership in an international environment.
