The role
- You own the Agentic Commerce product line end-to-end — from strategy and roadmap through to P&L ownership as the role matures.
- You define how Checkout.com's credential infrastructure (Vault, Network Tokens, Account Updater, Delegated Tokenisation) serves agent-initiated payment flows, including credential scoping and agent-bound tokenisation.
- You establish Checkout.com's Know Your Agent (KYA) framework — covering agent identity verification, consent management, spending mandates, and liability — ensuring compliance with SCA, card scheme rails, and the EU AI Act.
- You determine Checkout.com's posture across emerging agentic commerce protocols (OpenAI ACP, Google UCP, Visa TAP, Mastercard Agent Pay, Machine Payments Protocol), positioning us as the protocol-agnostic infrastructure layer.
- You shape agent-native authentication flows, fraud and risk frameworks for machine-initiated transactions, and the developer surface for agent-first integrations.
What they are looking for
- 3–5 years of product management with demonstrable ownership of infrastructure or platform products.
- Deep, working knowledge of card payment stack: PSP and acquirer architecture, authorisation flows, tokenisation, PCI DSS scope, and scheme integrations.
- Familiarity with agentic AI systems — how LLM agents acquire permissions, tool use, planning loops, and multi-agent orchestration — and the payment gaps they create.
- Data-driven mindset: skilled at building P&L models, leveraging business insights to prioritise roadmap, and driving execution.
- End-to-end ownership mentality: structured in understanding technical architecture, commercial models, compliance (EU AI Act, PCI DSS v4), and go-to-market strategy.
- Leadership and influencing: excellent cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Legal, Finance, Compliance, and commercial teams; high EQ; ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
What is in it for you
- Category-defining role at the inflection point of agentic commerce — shaping how autonomous AI agents transact at scale.
- Real ownership with fewer blockers: move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and see impact from day one.
- Hybrid working model: three days per week in London HQ, with flexibility to support collaboration and your needs.
- Opportunity to represent Checkout.com at industry forums, scheme working groups, and standards bodies — establishing thought leadership in a nascent space.
- Work alongside a fast-moving, performance-obsessed team backed by strong company culture and investment in your growth.
