Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a new team member to join ABB's Motion Business and take technical ownership of one of our global Medium Voltage Drives product families.

In this role, you will act as the key technical partner across the entire product lifecycle, driving product improvements, engineering changes, quality initiatives, and long-term product competitiveness. Working closely with Product Management, R&D, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams worldwide, you will help shape the future development of innovative drive solutions used by industrial customers around the globe.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Owning the technical lifecycle roadmap of a Medium Voltage Drives product family and aligning lifecycle priorities with Product Management and global Quality and Lifecycle Management teams.

  • Driving product improvements, engineering changes, quality actions, and cost optimization initiatives to ensure long-term product competitiveness.

  • Acting as the technical focal point for product maintenance, complex technical issues, testing programs, and product performance.

  • Managing product releases, configuration management, and implementation of engineering changes in collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.

  • Leading continuous improvement activities focused on quality, reliability, manufacturability, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Supporting product sustainability initiatives, component obsolescence management, and lifecycle risk mitigation.

  • Managing product data, configurations, and technical inputs required for configuration and engineering tools.

  • Performing root cause analysis and collaborating with global cross-functional teams to deliver effective technical solutions.

Qualifications for the role

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation, Power Systems, or a related technical field.

  • 8+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Product Management, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Engineering Change Management, or a comparable role involving complex industrial products.

  • Strong technical understanding of Medium Voltage Drives, power electronics, electrical systems, or related industrial products.

  • Experience managing products throughout their lifecycle, including product maintenance, engineering changes, continuous improvement, and product optimization activities.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical specifications, and engineering documentation; familiarity with industry standards applicable to electrical equipment and power electronics (e.g., IEC, UL).

  • Experience working with ERP and PLM systems; knowledge of SAP and Windchill is considered an advantage.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to identify root causes, drive sustainable solutions, and collaborate effectively across global cross-functional teams.

  • Fluent English and Polish.
