Key responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABB’s offerings to targeted market segments and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle, in line with market needs and division/product group/business line strategy and targets. Each day, you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Analyze market, competitor, and customer trends to identify market opportunities, portfolio gaps, and growth potential, and translate insights into actionable strategies.

  • Drive the development and optimization of the product portfolio by prioritizing new offering initiatives, defining product positioning and customer value propositions, and leading cross-functional innovation activities.

  • Develop and execute go-to-market, channel, and pricing strategies in close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and channel partners, ensuring consistent market positioning and pricing across regions.

  • Monitor sales performance, profitability, inventory levels, and market trends to support business growth, optimize performance, and ensure reliable product availability.

  • Build strong customer relationships and gather market feedback through direct customer engagement to continuously improve products and solutions.

  • Initiate and support product training programs while ensuring clear communication of product value propositions to internal stakeholders, partners, and customers.

Qualifications for the role

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or a related field, combined with a solid technical background in automation technology.

  • Several years of experience in product management in the industrial automation sector, including strategy definition, lifecycle management, and go-to-market execution.

  • Familiarity with Automations systems and machinery market

  • Proficient analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working closely with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.

  • Effective communication and leadership abilities, with an entrepreneurial and initiative-driven mindset.

  • Fluency in English (German is an asset) and willingness to travel up to 25%.
